Position: Multimédia Journalist

• Create and conceptualise multimedia programmes.
• Introduce and host regular programmes. Anchor events, panel discussions, breaking local news stories, and news features.
• Research topics and background information for news to be featured on the programme/s.
• Write and (often) memorise scripts.
• Liaise with other journalists, videographers, and members of the production team to ensure smooth video-production.
• Be aware of local and international breaking news and major news-related events
• Interview guests in the studio, by telephone or on location
• Research, compile and read short news, traffic, sport or weather reports

Requirements:

• Manage the desk, edit videos, operate basic technical equipment like cameras and/or teleprompters, etc.
• Keep the programme running to schedule, responding positively and quickly to problems or changes and improvising where necessary
• Special projects as and when assigned by the Editor and other Group requirements
