Job Description
We’re looking for an outstanding Senior Mechanical Engineer with a background in mechanical design of spacecraft components, precision testing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and gages. The role is within the propulsion team, and the ideal candidate has experience in mechanical spacecraft hardware from conception through flight qualification, with understanding of materials and processes, GD&T, and design to dynamic and thermal requirements.

Responsibilities:

1. Mechanical design of propulsion subsystem, sub-systems and test-fixtures
2. Collaborating with the propulsion team to deliver low-mass and low-cost designs optimized for manufacturability in volume
3. Generate detailed designs and conduct/enable thermal modelling along with static, dynamic and modal structural analysis as needed
4. Support integration of designs into propulsion performance models
5. Tolerance analyses and verification of critical clearances for sub-system components
6. Preparation and documentation of materials for design review gates

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience
2. 3+ years experience CAD software expertise (Siemens NX, SolidWorks, etc.
