Position: Mechanic III – 1st Shift
Melville, NY, USA
Responsible for ensuring the efficient and quality standards for operation of specific packaging and filling machinery within the Production department. Responsible for all specialized maintenance and repair of packaging and filling machinery
Responsibilities:
- Work with other mechanics in machine set-ups and breakdowns, as well as perform all aspects of lower levels as required
- Perform regular packaging and filling equipment checks, repairs and machine replace parts
- Perform adjustments and changeovers to accommodate packages or containers of different specifications
- Fabricate quality brackets, guards and rails when necessary
- Comply with prescribed cGMP and safety procedures
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education for math and English skills; trade school education
- Pass mechanical testing and aptitude test
- Three to four years previous packaging and/or filling related experience preferred
- Must be knowledgeable of mechanical schematics
- Must have good understanding of equipment timing and phasing
